Finding Hope in the New Commandment
As the leaves begin to bud and the world awakens, your heart may feel heavy with the weight of past failures or future uncertainties. It is in this quiet, transitional time that we need a fresh perspective on who we are in Christ. The scripture for this month anchors us not in our performance, but in His love.
Jesus knew the fragility of human resolve. He saw Peter’s bold promise to lay down his life, yet He also saw the coming denial. He did not condemn Peter; instead, He gave a command that transcends our ability to keep it perfectly. This is the grace that sustains us when we feel we are falling short.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.— John 13:34, KJV
The Evidence of His Glory
When we struggle to love others, especially those who are difficult, we often feel isolated in our pain. But remember, the glory of the Son of Man is inextricably linked to the glory of the Father. Our lives are meant to reflect that same divine connection through tangible acts of mercy.
The world watches not for our perfection, but for our love. In a season of change, let your actions speak louder than your fears. When you extend grace to a neighbor or patience to a friend, you become a living testament to the Gospel. This is how we know we are His disciples.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.— John 13:35, KJV
You are not defined by your denials or your doubts, but by the Savior who loves you unconditionally. As you walk through April, let the new commandment be your guide. Love boldly, forgive freely, and rest in the truth that God is glorified in you. You are held, you are known, and you are loved.
