Grace Notes Ministries · Your First Steps
You just said the most important prayer of your life. Heaven recorded it. Here is everything you need for the next 24 hours — and beyond.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 · KJVThe moment you confessed Jesus as Lord and believed that God raised Him from the dead, you were saved — not by how you felt, not by what a church said, but by the written Word of God (Romans 10:9). That Word does not expire. It does not depend on your performance. It is done.
Prayer is not a formal religious ritual. It is a conversation with your Father. You do not need special words. Just talk to Him the way you are talking right now — out loud, in your head, or written down.
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
— Philippians 4:6 · KJVTonight: Before you sleep, simply say — “God, thank You. Lead me. I am Yours.” That is all.
The entire Bible is God's Word — but the Gospel of John was written specifically for people who are just starting. It tells you exactly who Jesus is and why He matters. Read one chapter per day. There are 21 chapters.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

You were not designed to walk alone. The church is not a building — it is a family of believers. You need people around you who believe the same thing. Ask God right now to lead you to the right church.
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another.”
— Hebrews 10:25 · KJVTip: Search “Bible-believing church near me” and visit on Sunday. Do not let one bad experience stop you — keep looking until you find your family.
Baptism is a public declaration — it is your way of telling the world “I belong to Jesus now.” It does not save you (you are already saved), but it is an important step of obedience and it is a powerful moment you will never forget.
“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
— Romans 6:3 · KJVTalk to a pastor at your new church — they will walk you through it. There is no rush.
You do not have to have all the answers. Just say “I prayed the salvation prayer tonight and I believe I am saved.” That act of confession out loud is part of what God designed. It builds your faith and often opens a door for someone else.
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.”
— Matthew 10:32 · KJVNo pressure — even texting a trusted friend “I prayed tonight” counts. God sees the heart.
Romans 10:9 says you are saved. God's Word is true whether you feel it or not. It was true before you woke up tomorrow.
You may wake up tomorrow feeling exactly the same. Normal. Emotions are not the evidence of salvation. The Bible is.
The enemy's oldest trick on a new believer is to whisper “nothing changed.” Do not listen. “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” — Matthew 24:35
